I recently received my sports hijab from Shukr's new sports line, and I think it's pretty great! I wore it to my first soccer practise of the season, and it stayed in place really well. What they don't show you on their website is the elastic band inside, which is why I took this photo. The elastic band serves to hold the hijab in place and it does the job pretty well. This is a one piece, so it's a big improvement for me from the two piece amira hijabs I was wearing as active-wear because there is simply LESS fabric to make you hot than a two piece. The cotton is really soft btw. Another feature of this sports hijab is that the front and back are a bit longer than my amira hijabs and are slit on the sides (see photo). This way it's easier to tuck into jerseys and t-shirts, and when you move your head around the hijab doesn't move around with it as much.
I wouldn't say this is a tournament-grade hijab. If you are a serious sports-woman you may prefer something more secure like this brand I found designed by a Canadian muslim woman called ReSportOn that you can purchase here. Similar to the Ahiida swimwear that I love, it has the hood attached to the chest piece so it ensures no loose bits! See bottom photo. love this idea!
