HUSSANA Coupon!

Salam! So you may recall my earlier post about Hussana Halal Bodycare products...well they have given me a 10% coupon for ModestFlair readers, so if you've been considering an order now is the time to give'em a try! Just enter MODESTFLAIR in the voucher box when ordering and you'll receive the 10% discount.

Hussana products are great for those Muslims who don't like to use skin products that have alcohol or animal products in them (so they'ld be great for Vegans and Vegetarians too I'ld assume!). Here's a litte about them from their website:

"The aim of Hussana is to introduce a Halal alternative to the current high street products. Many of which contain alcohol and other Haram ingredients from different animal parts. All of Hussana’s range contain no alcohol or animal products. The launch range consists of Shampoo, Conditioner, Body wash, Moisturiser, Cleanser, Face scrub, Lip balm, Baby shampoo, Baby lotion, Baby oil and Baby bath. The range is suitable for both male and female use"

Trend Alert: RUFFLES!!!

I have to say my favorite trend this season is RUFFLES! I tend to be a sucker for feminine details (I love florals too). The BEST place for this in retail is H&M right now, in fact it's my favorite retail store of all right now because of all the long tops, long sweaters, BOLERO jackets (short jackets for layering on top of sleeveless tops), short layering sweaters, long light knits and layering shirts in tons of colors. It's one of the few shops where you can find an entire matching modest outfit with a matching scarf!  These tops are $17.99 and $39.99. Most tops at H&M are under $40.

An Islamic store that's got some ruffles right now is Artizara, between $45-60, which is more than H&M but you get the ease of not having to layer. Nice! By the way if you don't like how the ruffles stick out on the first photo below, you can loosely wear a belt to kind of gather them in and that looks super chic!

EastEssence EXCEEDS Expectations

I got my order from http://www.eastessence.com/ and.....(drumrole)...Yaye! I have to say that after I made my order I was a bit worried that I'd made a mistake...long tunics for under $20? - I was wondering if the fabric would turn out to be some cheap, rough cotton or if the sewing would be shabby, but, no worries, it's BETTER than you hope for at these prices. The cotton is actually a slightly silky, soft, quality material. The stitching is proffessional, not a string hanging out of place, even on the tunics that have intricate embroidery. And all the items come proffessionaly packaged and tagged.

Really LOVELY items at this price-point! The sizing was perfect as well; I looked at their sizing chart (as you should ALWAYS do since all stores size differently), did my measurements and got the perfect size for me (XXS..haha yeah right!).

Oh! And shipping was super at only $10 for several tunics, to CANADA! It arrived DHL to my door within a couple weeks of ordering. Also, customer service was quick and helpful; when my coupon code didn't work on the website I just called and they refunded me the savings within a half hour!

3 HAJJ OUTFITS!!

Is anyone going for Hajj this year? If so, share where you got your clothes! Here's 3 HAJJ OUTFITS available online:

#1 This is my FAVORITE because it's a  high cotton blend, looks cute and comfy, and only $60, but strangely enough I can't share the photo with you because some sites don't allow photo sharing, so here is the link to this outfit made in Turkey from SafaHouse: http://www.safahouse.com/pd_womens_hajj_and_umrah_outfit.cfm

#2 This is from IslamicBoutique (doesn't say what material it's made from, so ask before you buy) :

#3 This is from Alhannah, more traditional, made in Jordan, and polyester. Shouldn't hajj outfits be cotton?? It's hot over there!

Islamic Socks Review

I got my order of "Islamic Socks"! They are basically wudu-easy socks because they have a slit near the toes that you stick your feet out from and then you pull the socks up instead of having to take them off.

The fabric is not cotton, it's a poly spandex, more dressy fabric. It's basically a tube sock shape, but because the fabric is stretchy this is ok, it forms to your foot. They are a longer sock, going about 1/3 way up the leg (my leg any way). The packaging is very professional - you could definitely give or mail these out as gifts!

They are a very practical sock for those who like to make wudu before every salat, and especially for those who work and have to make wudu in public places. You do feel the seam a bit where the slit is, but I wouldn't say it would deter someone from wearing it if they really like the idea.

A cute Islamic product!
