Winter Wear from Shukr

Shukr should be noted as one of the only Islamic clothing stores that offers warm winter clothes! Something a girl from Canada can really appreciate! They have wool items (even jackets), corduroy, and knit! Here's a sample of their warmer items! I have this black <----wool jumper and I LOVE it...I can just change up the look by wearing different under-layers (I wear bright colors underneath like fuschia, red, yellow..) so there's a tip for you: a jumper is a very versatile item, an inexpensive way to get many different looks.

Thanks Shukr!

  1. Assalamu alaikom,
I want to like Shukr but I just don't... Which is probably good because I can't afford it and when I am interested in something, my size or the nice colors are always gone by the time I see it. LOL

  3. I tend to piece together my outfits from modest clothes at the mall but I do like Shukr for the "staples" like if i need a black skirt for winter or a white cotton shirt in the summer I'll look there first, because the quality is unsurpassed and the service very reliable. I interviewed the owner and designer of Shukr (it's on my blog catergories under "interviews") and asked them about why they don't use more patterns and different fabrics because i think that's what they need.

  4. Yeah, I agree with you there. They are reliable and the quality is good. And I really wish they'd use different fabrics, too... My friend buys their stuff and I don't like the heavy cotton/linen dresses, personally. I want a dress to have a softer drape/flow. They had a dress for a while, I think it was gorgette or maybe rayon, and almost every size sold out right away (before I got there... I would have FOUND a way to afford that dress!)

  6. As salamu alaykum Eyes Serene, Shukr Online states that they use the highest quality fabric and also close to natural. Which is why their material is not flowing or non-clingy. In fact, mostly synthetic material such as crepe used on most abayas from Kuwait, Jordan and Syria are the ones that flow and non-clingy to the body.

Since Shukr uses cotton on their abayas, they have a high chance of shrinkage and clingy to your body if you have curves. That's why I thought twice before buying their abayas.

    I hope that was helpful.
