No Tan, New Clothes: A Summer of Shopping...

Salaam Girls!!

I haven't posted in awhile cuz I've been away on vacation in Lebanon! Here's the summary: beautiful land; warm, loving people, awesome shopping! Of course I've got a million wacky stories but I must resist and stick to fashion - which won't be a problem because, let me tell you, those Lebanese ladies are fashionable!

And why wouldn't they be? The shopping is amazing! What a treat to walk into any store and find long skirts, wide pants, long tops, and matching hijabs in the trendiest styles!

This photo is the entrance to Tekbir in Tripoli, where I spent a lot of time :) Hence the title of this entry: no tan, new clothes! I went through tons of high end stores like this and also through the old souk (market) too, but I found myself always returning to Tekbir.

Why? Well, the quality at Tekbir is top-notch, much better than any store in the old markets. The service from the sales ladies was awesome, especially when they saw I spoke English :) Big huge bonus: they will tailor any item to your size free of charge if it doesn't fit right. Also, most of their stuff was made of cotton or linen so it was really comfortable, which is important to me. I saw a lot of fancy clothes in other stores that just weren't practical for me. Lastly, they were having a huge end of season sale - otherwise the regular prices would have been really high.

No, Tekbir did not disappoint, however I have to say that the items in store were quite different than the photos of those lovely Turkish women you see online. The items in store were much more everyday-wear and less run-way fashion.

The only online store I know of that may sell some Tekbir brand is Primomoda.com ...

Much more to tell you later!

Oh, and ***Ramadan Mubarak ***
