eShakti.com: Custom-fit Modest Clothes

Salamu alaykum! You know I'm always on the look-out for modest clothing options online, and I found a website the other day that offers not only great value but also customization which would make many of their outfits "Muslim friendly".

The site is eShakti.com, and it looks like some of their line are Indian inspired, but with a very modern twist. The prices are very reasonable. The outfit above is on sale for only about $39 for the set. And get this, before you add an item to the cart, you can select from several custom options, which, in our case, would make the outfit more modest.

The features you can select for this pants outfit, for example, are: "Loose fit" (vs standard), "Long Sleeve", and "Below the Knee" (tunic length).

Or how about this lovely skirt? You can customize the length by entering your height and then selecting the option "Ankle length".

How cool is that? I'm seriously considering customizing an outfit and giving it a try!

Finding Hijabs at the Mall!

I've been finding so many hijabs at stores in the mall lately! Stores like Le Chateau, Urban Behavior, and H&M, are carrying matching hijabs next to many of their outfits. Are these retailers starting to market to Muslim shoppers or is it just my wishful thinking?

The hijabs I found were the wrap style, in trendy spring colors. (I'm really loving this spring's citrusy colors by the way: tangerine, lemon...) Here's a photo of three of the hijabs I actually bought from Urban Behavior the other day:

By the way, these were only $12 - 15 each. Not a bad deal.
Check out your local mall and tell us which stores you find that have a good selection of hijabs!

Modest Store Find: Soft Surroundings

I ran across a lovely little store online today called softsurroundings.com. Their brand is all about "pure relaxation for the body and soul." Sounds pretty good to me! Their clothes are apparently super soft and comfortable.

They've got tons of luscious cotton skirts in beautiful bold patterns, as well as wide pants and loose fitting tops. They look soooo comfy.
LOOK! They have a Tall section to choose from! A little tip I've learned along the way is to look for tall skirts if the regular sizes aren't long enough at a particular store. I've done that before with Eddie Bauer clothes and it worked well.

Check them out!

Salam!
